5 Simple Ways to Welcome Spring into Your Home

Spring is officially knocking at our doors and we couldn’t be more excited! Milder temps, budding trees, blooming flowers – and that’s not counting the transition that’ll be happening inside our homes. This is a great time of year to make some changes indoors that will help welcome the new season, brighten your days and embrace the beautiful transformation that’s happening around us. Need a little inspiration? The tips below should have your home feeling soft, airy and inviting – just like the fresh spring breeze.

The quickest and easiest way to introduce spring into your home is to declutter. When you eliminate things like clutter, unwanted clothing and toys, and outdated décor, your home will instantly feel lighter and more open. And this time of year is ideal since there’s bound to be a few more chilly days left on the calendar – the perfect time to downsize. Decluttering will also allow you to focus on any new décor you might want to add.

Once you’ve tossed the stuff you no longer want or need, the next step should be organizing what you plan to keep. There are so many choices when it comes to home organization. You can use hooks and labels, bins and baskets, shelves and peg rails – the sky is the limit. Just take a step back and figure out what look and feel you’re going for and then plan your organization strategy around that.

Bring Freshness Inside

Spring means lots of new life blooming outdoors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring some of that freshness into your home. Fresh flowers and plants bring color and life into any room and they serve as a friendly reminder that you’ve made it through the winter months. If you’re creative and have the time, a beautiful fresh or dried wreath is a lovely way to greet guests. Spring is also a great time to start thinking about growing some fresh herbs indoors.

Lighten & Brighten Up

Another great way to welcome spring into your home is to introduce softer colors and accents. Now’s a great time to start packing away the darker décor you had out during the cooler months and holiday season and replace it with light pinks, blues, greens, and whites. Or, if you prefer bolder colors, there’s plenty of vibrant spring décor to choose from. You’d be amazed how something as simple as changing your drapes or throw pillows can really transform the look and feel of a room.

Don’t Forget the Kitchen

Last, but certainly not least, we can’t forget the all-important kitchen. No, we’re not talking about painting or decorating. We’re talking about eating. Introducing bright colored food into your menu is another great reminder that spring has officially sprung. For lighter, airy colors, try our Avocado Cilantro Lime Cauliflower Rice or our Roasted Broccoli Quinoa Salad. If you’re feeling bold, whip up a batch of our brilliant Beet Hummus. Not only will they add a pop of fresh color, but they’re good for you too!

Spring is an amazing time of year. Take this opportunity to harness some of the colors and freshness to bring your whole home life.
