Cuban Black Bean Soup

Cuban Black Bean Soup

  • 3 slices of bacon, finely chopped

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 small green pepper, diced

  • 1 tsp garlic, minced

  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/4 tsp chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1 pinch of baking soda

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 1 can of Hanover Foods Chicken Broth

  • 2 15.5oz cans of Hanover Foods Black Beans

  • Salt to taste

  1. Place bacon, onion, green pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, and black pepper in a large pot
  2. Add orange juice and baking soda and stir
  3. Add chicken broth and black beans, bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes
